I just want to make a better pet life quality getting better, so both of the (you) as the owner and your pet won’t experience many obstacle in the future.

Let’s go to the beginning step, don’t shower your pet. Just don’t do it except they are really need it in accidental like mud dirt, diarrhea, or etc. Wipes with wet tissue or dry clean with talcum powder is ok. Sometimes only touch of diluted antiseptic can be the best cleaner. Why I don’t suggest to give bath of your pet?

- Some of pets have sensitive skin

- Pet not really need much grooming with chemical, they have groomed their self in nature

- Bath give them stress

- Unappropriated bath can cause incident like infection in ears, scars, bleeding toes, hair loss etc

- You will give more suffer showering in sick condition

If only your vet suggest to give shower, just do for your pet’s sake. Most of it need medicated shower, for normal condition you can apply normal or mild shampoo.

Next one, is deworming. Do you know your pet can get worm infection since birth? Cause it inherit from maternal line, through placenta and breast feeding. In point, deworming for weaning pet is a must. But generally they have to be 2 month old and having good appetite and no other health problem. If you are not sure to give deworming by yourself, please go to the nearest vet. There are a lot of type dewormer, liquid, tablet, drop on. Mild one and the strong medicine. Don’t google it! You are not a professor in a day just because of search it in google. I really not recommend to give deworming to pregnant pet, seriously it can lead miscarriage.

The third is anti ectoparasite control and prevention. You can use spot on, drop on, spray, or chewable tablet. It’s all depend on the age, general condition, and type of parasite the pet has. The infestation of parasite can be severe and cause anemic. Some of pet having tick fever, diarrhea, worm infection in complication. Some of kind parasite can infect to human too, like scabiosis and rashes of flea allergy. Don’t hesitate has consultation with your favorite dermatologist if get any sign of itchy, reddish, and other skin problem. As a vet I can’t give any advice of human medication even I know about it hehe.

The last but not least, give your pet vaccination shoot. There are a lot of virus can cause death, especially for young puppies and kitten. Be careful when they are not get enough breast feeding, the immunity is lower than normal pet. If they are 2-3 months old, healthy and no more breast feeding, it require for vaccination. Once your pet get virus infection, most of them only 20% survive. Some of them survive with abnormal condition. Vaccination will give your pet protection toward viruses. Still, they can get the infection, but they can survive and through the infection with mild effect.

Vaccination is a challenge for pet, they will get fever after the application. It’s normal if they won’t active, having less appetite, and not good mood for a week. You may give them additional nutrition such as vitamin for immune booster. Give your pet time and place to take a rest for awhile.

That’s all basic pet health for protection againt disease. You can avoid the disaster only by some simple steps. I will really appreciate your sacrifice to spend money for the treatment rather than you ignore and bring your pet ton clinic after they suffering.
